water
purification

Hydration is essential to our survival as humans and organic lifeforms in general. But our water sources can be heavily polluted with various disease-causing contaminants. According to assessments of the World Health Organization (WHO), by far the most water-related diseases are caused by harmful microorganisms.

The most widely used water disinfection methods include ultrafiltration (UF), UV irradiation, and ozonation, while reverse osmosis (RO) also leads to disinfection. The high energy consumption of RO makes it unsuitable as a disinfection technology alone. Furthermore, RO leads to removal of essential minerals such as calcium and magnesium. Thus, in cases where desalination or removal of pollutants is not required, the use of RO should be completely avoided.
UV deactivates microorganisms, but when the water is stored or transported after UV treatment, microorganisms regrow and re-contaminate the water. Thus, UV-treated water should be consumed directly after treatment, and cannot be stored safely for more than one day.

Livinguard’s core technology works totally differently from RO, UV, and other technologies. Livinguard filtration candles or charged membranes kill microbes upon contact with greater efficacy, speed, durability, and reliability. No electricity is required, no water is wasted, minerals are retained, and water can be stored for longer. We can even include “floater” filters in storage tanks to prevent water quality deterioration during storage. Our filters can also be used in combination with any other technology.

The result is a convenient, high-performance, cost-effective, and environmentally sustainable water purifier.
